The Holographic Difference
The EOTech EXPS3 uses true holographic technology — a laser diode projects the reticle onto holographic film in the sight window. The reticle stays visible even if the glass is cracked, muddy, or partially covered. Cover half the window? The full reticle remains. That’s a survival feature.
The SpecPrecision EXPS3 uses a conventional LED red dot in a replica EOTech shell. Same visual result — 68 MOA ring + 1 MOA dot — but if the front window cracks, you lose the reticle. For airsoft? Non-issue. For duty? Life-and-death distinction.
Glass Clarity
EOTech’s glass is exceptional — nearly zero tint, anti-reflective coated. SpecPrecision’s lens is slightly darker but still offers good transmission with no mirror effect or glare. In bright daylight the dot stays clear; indoors the tint is barely noticeable.
